On a trip to Italy in 1999, whilst developing concept stores in the luxury sector, Olivier and David Gabison made the acquaintance of an Italian couturier named Ugo Zaldi. This chance encounter gave birth to the idea of “affordable luxury”.
In 2003, nurturing their passionate interest in fashion and the romantic world of evening gowns, the Gabison brothers decided to bring the Italian designer’s creations to a global audience and established a design studio in the Golden Triangle couture district of Paris. The brand went on to become noticed by some of the most respected boutiques in the world as a fresh and accessible couture collection.
In 2008 Ugo Zaldi is stocked in close to 300 outlets throughout the world and continues to grow.
Today Ugo Zaldi has established itself as a one of the leading players in the luxury evening wear market with plans to launch concessions in high-end stores in 2010.
